At Atom, what we have developed over the years is about reducing friction in the way people find domain names.
Better search.
Smarter guidance.
AI is beginning to understand intent, not just keywords.
But there is always a step we can not take.
You still have to type something.
And in many cases, that is the hardest part.
A small experiment
Over the past few months, we have begun to explore whether we can completely eliminate that step.
Does not improve it. Doesn’t make it better.
Remove it.
Which leads to simplicity (and a bit uncomfortable)
What if the search box is not completely needed?
That work leads to the inner pattern that we are calling MindSearch.
MindSea moderch works
Instead of relying on explicit input, MindSearch tries to interpret intentional signals and translate them into naming directions.
It is a mixture of pattern recognition, contextual inference, and linguistic patterns that try to make sense of incomplete signs.
In simple terms, it tries to figure out what you mean before you say it.
What we are seeing so far.
In initial testing, the system is often able to identify:
- General categories (AI, SaaS, users, etc.)
- Preferred naming style (shorter, more descriptive trademarks)
- The level of clarity behind the concept
It is not always accurate, but it is many times more useful than we expect.
There are also edge cases where it captures the impact signal or tends too much into a new trend.
There is also a time when it becomes very confident … even when the mind itself is not there.
We are still working through that.
Where it helps
The biggest impact so far is at the beginning of the naming process.
When keywords are not yet clear or when users do not know where to start, MindSearch provides initial instructions for feedback.
From there, the process becomes more repetitive.
Feedback and repeat
Each session includes a simple feedback loop.
The user can indicate whether the results are aligned or not, and the system will make adjustments through the subsequent transitions.
We have seen alignment improvements in multi-step sessions, especially when the initial concept is still being developed.
Although in some cases the system is more reliable and faster than the user.
Availability
We are launching a limited edition MindSearch launch on April 1st.
To manage capacity, initial access will include a small number of free sessions.

Additional sessions are available as part of a usage-based model.
