One of the most common questions buyers ask when evaluating a premium domain is:
“How do you know the price is reasonable for such a name?”
Unlike markets such as real estate or stocks, domain buyers often have limited access to comparable price contexts when evaluating a specific name. For many founders and entrepreneurs buying a premium domain for the first time, the lack of a reference point can create uncertainty.
To help solve this problem, we are introducing a new feature on the Atom domain landing page: Comparative sales.
What is comparable sales?
With this new feature, buyers can click. Comparative sales Directly from the domain landing page to see a small set of similar domains previously sold on the Atom Marketplace in Compare Price range.

These comparable domains were selected using a combination of:
- Similarity of meaning
- Brand structure analysis
- Price relevance
The goal is to provide a useful context without overwhelming the buyer with too much data. By presenting a set of relevant market sales, buyers can better understand how domain prices fit into a broader market.
Running as an A / B experience
As with many product improvements on Atom, this feature is being introduced as Experiments A / B.
Not all landing pages of all domains will show comparable sales, and not all buyers will see the feature during this trial. This allows us to evaluate how the features affect the actual buyer behavior compared to the control group.
In the coming months, we will be monitoring the impact on key market metrics such as Buyer engagement and sales rate through (STR).
If the data shows that comparable sales help buyers make more confident decisions, we can extend the features further. Otherwise, we will continue to improve the approach.
Vendor Management
We acknowledge that some sellers may not like to show sales comparable to their domain registration.
For this reason, sellers have a choice Choose from comparable sales demos. From them. Marketing Settings Page. This ensures that vendors maintain control over how their domain is presented while we continue to test this functionality.

Building with data
Marketing design often involves balancing different perspectives from buyers and sellers. Rather than rely on assumptions, our approach is to test ideas using real market data and allow the results to guide future decisions.
The comparative sales feature is part of an ongoing effort to improve transparency, reduce buyer uncertainty, and make the domain buying process more intuitive for entrepreneurs and businesses.
We are thrilled to see the data presented as this experiment progresses.
