Being unable to close your mind is painful, especially in the middle of the night.
As a psychiatrist and empathetic person, many of my patients come to me with overconfidence. They are upset because their jokes are drowning in other things. It works non-stop, making them stuck in circular thinking. They are tired of the same thing again, but do not know how to stop it.
Each of us has our own small and big ones. The small self is limited to the level of personality in which the ego, intellect and mental struggles of the ruler, and the large self is controlled by the heart. Too much thinking can happen when the ego is in pain, can not leave it and is still in pain. It’s right to keep you tense and angry, rather than letting go of those burdens. Likewise, the little self tries to argue with you empathetically and offers “good reasons” to cling to suffering, fear, and anger.

Empathy is the path of the heart. It allows you to shift the network from your busy mind to the different frequencies where healing can occur.
Here are the strategies from my book The genius of empathy, To help you change from small to large.
Nine Strategies To Fight Overthinking
- Please identify the model that does not bear fruit.
- Focus on breathing through your nose to move out of your mind and into your body.
- Tell yourself that thinking too much will not solve the problem. It only disappointed me.
- Focus on the present rather than creating scary stories about the future.
- Accept what you do has the power to change rather than live in a situation beyond your control.
- Gently place your hands on your heart and imagine an uplifting picture that relaxes you.
- Keep repeating, everything is fine. With time, this problem will be solved. Or simply Ohm, which in Sanskrit means “I am at peace”.
- Listening to soothing music takes you out of your heart and into your heart. It is impossible to “think” of the experience of music. You have to feel it.
- The antidote to over-thinking is to enjoy the wonders of nature: the sunset, the dawn of the moon. . . Whatever touches you.
