Starting a business raises $ 2 million.
They are building on Acme.ai.
You own Acme.com.
Most domain owners never know this is happening. Funding announcements run in newsletters that they have not read, and if there is interest in the domain later, sellers are reacting coldly to it, not knowing who the buyer is or why they are showing up.
We created a fund notification to fix it.
What it does
Atom is now tracking funding announcements across the press, launching global media and SEC documents. When a newly funded company matches one of your domain registrations, you usually receive a notification within a day of the announcement.
Each warning includes the name of the company, the size of the round and the stage, what the company does, where they are based and the domain they are running. If they are running on a different extension of your real name, we flag it especially because it is the strongest form of the sign.
There is nothing to determine. If your registry is pointing to an Atom server, the check is in progress.
Why fundraising events are important to domain sellers
Three fund rounds change at the same time.
First, the budget. The start-up company has limited capital for a one-time investment that was not previously available. Domain upgrade is the original use of new funds.
Second, urgency. Funded companies are about to spend on the rental market and the press. Every dollar spent on building a brand on the wrong extension makes the final transition more expensive. The founders knew this and those who acted on it tended to act prematurely.
Third, visibility. The funding announcement is a public statement that the company intends to grow. It tells you if any of your listings have a real and identifiable company building on the adjacent name now, rather than a hypothetical buyer somewhere in the future.
All this does not guarantee sales. But it does tell you where the demand is, and it keeps you up to date.
How to use symbols
Instinctively when one of these notifications arrives is to send an email to the company. We encourage you not to
Direct advertising to companies about domains that match their name is a delicious area, especially where trademarks can be found. Do not do it well, it can create a legal representation rather than a sale. This sign has a specific value because you can act on it without contacting anyone.
Here is what we recommend instead:
Check your prices. If the funded company is building on an extension of your name nearby, your current purchase price should reflect that. This is the time to check if it is happening.
Check the details of your listing. Make sure the registration is complete, the symbols and descriptions are current and the domain is well displayed. When buyers come and see, the funding companies often do everything in order.
Let time work for you. Interest coming into the domain often follows funding by weeks or months as companies turn their attention to the brand. Knowing what happened is that you are not surprised and not cheap when that impression comes.
Atomic funding and exit warning
If you have signed up for our Outbounding Beta, funding provides a direct signal to how our team plans to advertise on your behalf. You do not need to send any notifications or actions. The corresponding signal is automatically considered part of the program.
You can manage your registration and view your history from Domain sign Pages in your Vendor Dashboard.

Funding notifications are not a separate feature. It joins the signals we already share with vendors, including notifications when a website is created on another extension of your name and when apps that match your domain launch on the App Store.
The goal behind all of this is the same: a 360-degree view of how your name is used in the real world through other extensions. For the domain seller, that is the most important data available. It tells you the names of those in need of living around them, who created them, and how serious they are without looking.
Funding notifications are now available for domains pointing to Atom name servers. Such matches do not happen every day. When someone does, you know.
