Every domain sale starts the same way: the buyer finds the domain. Everything we create at Atom has to make that happen more often.
Most of that work happens at the entrance. We invest heavily in advertising, search, social campaigns, display and targeting, AI-powered discovery, and distribution partnerships that bring millions of potential buyers to your list. That investment works and it continues to grow.
But even the best markets throw wide nets. It creates awareness across a wider audience and waits for the right buyer to step forward. What it can not do is touch a specific company on the shoulder and say: This domain is for you now.
So from today we are also doing it.
External list application returns the sample. Instead of waiting for buyers to find a special selection list, our team identifies businesses that seem to have a real interest in getting and reaching out directly.
How it works
We have developed an engine that analyzes market signals across the network: companies using similar brands, launches fundraising on Crunchbase, mobile apps based on relevant keywords, and other indicators that domains have real commercial needs. AI helps us process these signals on a scale that can be manually matched across domains, attracting many potential buyers.
Behind it is the CRM we created from the ground up with the domain at its core. Off-the-shelf sales tools are designed to sell app subscriptions, not just one type of digital asset, so we created our own. It manages all international conversations and buyer relationships in one place, tracking each prospect from the first touch through negotiations.
Technology makes data processing and lifting heavy. But all the domains selected for advertising are reviewed by our team, all messages are approved by an individual and all negotiation decisions are made by people. AI seeks opportunities. People make calls.
Both outside and inside feed each other. When prospective buyers engage with our ads, they do not just receive emails and be silent. Our re-targeting campaign removes them from there by keeping the domain in front of them online while they consider it. A conversation becomes a continuous presence.
What does this mean for sellers?
The program is opt-in and operates at the portfolio level. You can enable it from your Domain Signals page, where you can also exclude certain domains from leaving or leaving the app at any time. There is no extra cost, and any sale closes through an Atom review, just like a normal market sale.
We start small intentionally. For the first 4 to 6 weeks, our team will run out for a set of manually selected domains, high chances as we set our signals, test our messaging and find out what repentance is. When the results come out, we will gradually expand the number of domains in the active campaign. Not all domains will be selected, especially at the beginning and then by design. Focusing on advertising on the right domain strikes the big email on them all the time.
Why do we do this?
Atom has to help great domains find businesses that need them. We built the interior: traffic, search, discovery. Outbound completes the image. We want to try a bold idea in the open rather than sitting on it, and this is the next idea.
And this is just the beginning. As the app matures, we are looking for more outreach in addition to email, deeper buyer signals, and a tighter relationship between advertising and advertising. The engine we built for this beta is the foundation for something bigger.
